The city of Orlando is partnering with the Miles app.
"In a partnership with the Miles app, the city [of Orlando] is offering rewards to Orlandoans who use transit, bike and walk," according to an article by Melissa Perez-Carrillo.
"The Miles app gamifies moving yourself around the city, logging each trip and mode of transportation used. As users accumulate miles, they'll receive personalized rewards that are redeemable either online or at a nearby store," explains Perez-Carillo. More than 200 brands are offering rewards, and more rewards are still in development.
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer announced the Miles partnership via press release, describing the invectives as a boost for greener forms of transportation.
The Miles website claims that app users have earned rewards for more than 2 billion miles traveled.
