We are seeking a Housing Analyst who will bring a minimum of two years' experience in Housing or a related field, including a four-year degree from an accredited college or university, with a focus on housing, planning, public administration, or a related field. The ideal candidate is an effective critical thinker who combines technical expertise with excellent customer service and project management skills in a fast-paced and evolving, housing environment.
In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the City's Housing functions. This includes conducting research and analysis for municipal code updates in line with state housing law changes, zoning ordinance amendments for presentation to the Planning Commission and City Council, as well as managing grant applications and administration. Additionally, you will assist in the oversight of the City's Affordable Housing Programs, responding to public inquiries, and contributing to updates of the Municipal Code.
The Housing Analyst will serve as a resource for housing-related inquiries, provide expertise on housing development projects, and assist in reviewing and implementing affordable housing agreements. This role will also involve engaging with the public at the counter, over the phone, and via email regarding affordable housing inquiries.
We are looking for someone with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, who collaborates effectively with colleagues in a courteous and professional manner. The ability to communicate proficiently with elected and appointed officials is also crucial for success in this role.
