What You’ll Be Doing 

This position provides advanced technical functions to the Department of Community Development with an emphasis on supporting the Customer Service Center enforcement program. This includes investigation, inspection and documentation of Zoning Ordinance and Town Code compliance cases. The position also analyzes legislative entitlements, zoning permits, and site plan approvals in order to conduct inspections for residential and commercial occupancy and bond release. Other customer service tasks include responding to public concerns, educating applicants on process, and answering general questions about the Town’s development policies and regulations. This position is "Open Until Filled".

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience administering or enforcing codes, laws, ordinances, policies, regulations, and rules
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, law enforcement, public administration or a related field
  • One year of related work experience in enforcement for another jurisdiction
  • Virginia Certified Zoning Official or Certified Zoning Administrator
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
