The City of Vancouver is currently recruiting for a Permit Center Supervisor. The Permit Center Supervisor plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates and participates in the work of the team assigned to assist customers with successfully interfacing with the City’s planning, building, development, and permit processes including: intake of permit applications, addressing customer questions and needs, review of such applications for completeness, routing of permit applications and plans to assigned reviewers, collection of fees and issuance of refunds, and issuance of permits, approvals and information in response to requests. Researches, analyzes, and implements methods and procedures to improve process efficiencies within the department. Directly supervises the Permit Specialists and Engineering Technicians. Manages the team to assure efficient permit functions and superior customer service. The position also provides technical expertise in building and/or zoning code administration or development review processes. The Permit Center Supervisor receives general direction from the Division Manager or higher level department personnel and exercises direct supervision over technical and support personnel.
This is a full-time, regular, exempt position. The schedule for this position is M-F, 8am to 5pm.
At this time, this position is eligible for telework or hybrid schedule. As with all routine telework positions, employees may be required to come into the office on occasion based on business needs. Telework may be subject to change at a future time. Currently, all employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the City cannot support ongoing telework from other locations.
